The university uses international education standards to prepare prospective doctors for medicine in the 21st century. The extend curriculum is based on strict European and U.S. standards and on integrated educational experience. All lectures, seminars and practical training are conducted in English.
Students have plenty of opportunities to join research teams in many academic departments, get experience in research. Studies of the Medical Program are preparing to work in the medical profession. Student enquires the skills of interviewing the patient, examination, proper diagnosis and treatment of the patient and provide them necessary assistance.
During the studies, students gain the knowledge and practical skills in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation which are necessary to practice medicine, further training and further research. Student learns the moral principles of conduct towards patients and their rights, rules of professional doctors co-operation and moral norms in medical research. Is aware of the legal and professional responsibility. After graduation student has theoretical knowledge and practical skills to practice medicine, also has opportunity to specialize in different areas of medicine.
After graduation students will receive a diploma of Medical Doctor (MD), which allows for applying for a license to practice medicine in USA, Canada, Europe and many other countries.

Rules of candidates registration
- The registration of candidates is done electronically via the IRK system.
- The registration of candidates through the IRK system is a mandatory step to start the qualification procedure.
- The Registration becomes binding when the following conditions are met:
- The candidate has filled in all the required data and selected the field of study for which he/she wishes to register,
- The candidate has paid the recruitment fee and received confirmation from the University that the payment has been credited to the University's bank account,
- The candidate must submit his/her Secondary School Leaving Certificate (High School Diploma) to the University Admissions Committee. The certificate must prove that the candidate has the right to begin the studies at the University level in the country where the Secondary School Leaving Certificate was issued,
- The candidate must submit the International Baccalaureate Diploma or European Baccalaureate Diploma or a Certificate of predicted results (only for candidates with IB or EB Diploma) to the University Admissions Committee
4. Failure to submit the above documents will invalidate the application and will have no legal effect. The registration and the application for studies will be left without consideration.
5. The candidate bears the consequences of incorrectly filled fields of the application form as well as not filling them out or providing false information.
6. The candidate is obliged to keep the password of his/her personal IRK account secret. The University is not responsible for the consequences of the disclosure of the password to third parties, in particular for the modification of entries authorized by this password.
7. The University is not responsible for the inability to register or make a change due to network failures beyond the University's control or periodic server load.
8. The personal registration account is the only information channel for the transmission of information to candidates. Accordingly, all messages shared on the personal registration account will be treated as read and binding.
9. The University is not responsible for the consequences of candidates not reading the messages in their personal registration account.
All further steps including the required documents, will be announced to the candidates by the Admissions Committee.

Qualification rules
"Secondary School Leaving Certificate" Candidates
The admission of a Secondary School Leaving Certificate candidates is based on a competition (ranking) of the sum of points obtained on Secondary School Leaving Certificate in three subjects covered by the qualification procedure (calculated according to Annex 3 of the Senate Resolution):
- BIOLOGY (compulsory)
- CHEMISTRY or MATHEMATICS or PHYSICS or ENGLISH (2 subjects chosen by the candidate)
Only candidates who meet the criteria for the above subjects, i.e. the subject appears on the Secondary School Leaving Certificate, may enter the qualification procedure.
If the subject grades cannot be converted according to the above mentioned university scale (Annex No. 3 of the Senate Resolution), the candidate cannot be directly qualified, but must take a Knowledge Competency Exam in the field of Medical Terminology from BIOLOGY and the choice of CHEMISTRY or PHYSICS. The language of the exam is English. The exam is graded on a scale of 1-6.
European Baccalaureate (EB) candidates
The admission of an EB candidate is based only on the number of points obtained in the secondary school leaving examination (matriculation), the result of which is specified in the EB (minimum score -60 points), is multiplied by a factor of 6.0. The converted result places the candidate in the secondary school leaving certificate competition (ranking). Candidates with an EB are required to submit a statement/certificate of their results, issued by an authorized body, to the Admissions Committee according to the deadlines set out in the Recruitment Schedule.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme candidates
The admission of an IB Diploma candidate is based only on the number of points obtained in the secondary school leaving examination (matriculation), whose result is specified in the IB diploma (minimum score - 24 points) is multiplied by a factor of 13.33. The converted result places the candidate in the secondary school leaving certificate competition (ranking). Candidates with an IB Diploma are required to submit a statement/certificate of their results, issued by an authorized body, to the Admissions Committee according to the deadlines set out in the Recruitment Schedule.
Candidates with Medical College Admission Test "MCAT"
The admission of a MCAT candidate is based on the number of points obtained in the MCAT exam (taken not earlier than 2022, minimum score -495 points), whose result is multiplied by the factor of 1.136. The converted result places the candidate in the secondary school leaving certificate competition (ranking). Candidates with a MCAT certificate are required to submit a statement/certificate of their results, issued by an authorized body, to the Admissions Committee according to the deadlines set out in the Recruitment Schedule.
Candidates with University Clincial Aptitude Test "UKCAT/UCAT"
The admission of an UCAT candidate is based on the number of points obtained in the UCAT exam (taken not earlier than 2022, minimum score -1980 points), whose result is multiplied by the factor of 0.166. The converted result places the candidate in the secondary school leaving certificate competition (ranking). Candidates with an UKCAT/UCAT are required to submit a statement/certificate of their result issued by authorized body, to the Admissions Committee according to the deadlines set out in the Recruitment Schedule.
Candidates with Graduate Medical School Admissions Test "GAMSAT"
The admission of a GAMSAT candidate is based on the number of points obtained in the GAMSAT exam (taken not earlier than 2022, minimum score -50 points), whose result is multiplied by the factor of 6.0. The converted result places the candidate in the secondary school leaving certificate competition (ranking). Candidates with a GAMSAT are required to submit a statement/certificate of their results, issued by an authorized body, to the Admissions Committee according to the deadlines set out in the Recruitment Schedule.
Candidates with National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test"NEET"
The admission of a NEET candidate is based on the number of points obtained in the NEET exam (taken not earlier than 2022, minimum score -288 points), whose result is multiplied by the factor of 0.833. The converted result places the candidate in the secondary school leaving certificate competition (ranking). Candidates with a NEET are required to submit a statement/certificate of their results, issued by an authorized body, to the Admissions Committee according to the deadlines set out in the Recruitment Schedule.
Candidates qualified to the studies
Candidates who have been qualified to the medicine studies will receive the UWM Offer Letters, which outline the next steps, to confirm their place at the School of Medicine.
