🌍 GENERAL INFORMATION
The master's degree study (3 semesters) in the field of Geodesy and Geoinformatics provides the candidate with extensive knowledge and skills in the area of geodesy and cartography, with special emphasis on the latest technologies for gathering and processing data acquired with the use of remote sensing methods. The offered courses enable the candidate to gradually develop his/her skills in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics. The curriculum includes general and introductory courses offering both theoretical knowledge and practical instruction. The curriculum includes general and introductory courses (Mathematics, Physical Geodesy, Geostatistics, Earth observations, GIS programming), specialist courses modelling the future surveyor’s profile (Advanced geodesy, GNSS surveying, Advanced Satellite Remote Sensing, GNSS data processing and GNSS applications, Satellite navigation, Bathymetric measurements). Course includes also occupational training preparing the graduate to perform specialist services in the area of acquiring data for spatial information systems: Information technology in geomatics, GIS modelling and analysis, Database design, Geovizualization, WEB and mobile GIS. Every student is required to submit a master’s degree thesis. The curriculum includes facultative courses providing students with individual planning of their educational program. Studies in the field of Geodesy and Geoinformatics prepare the graduate for employment in surveying, cartographic and geoinformatics surveying companies, research institutions and development centres, and in central and local administration units.
💼 Skills You’ll Gain:
The graduate has basic knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering, as well as specialized knowledge of geodesy and geoinformatics. The graduate has acquired basic competence in: modern methods of geodetic, remote sensing measurements and modelling of the shape and physical properties of the Earth, observation of their changes over time, numerical processing and presentation of the results of geodetic, satellite, remote sensing and photogrammetric measurements, performance of hydrographic measurements, GPR measurements and unmanned aerial vehicle missions, performance of spatial analysis using GIS tools, acquisition of data for spatial information systems, development of GIS and Cloud GIS projects, development of topographic and thematic maps, surveying of investments.
🎓 PROFESSIONAL PERMISSIONS
The graduate has the ability to use the acquired knowledge in professional work and everyday life, to lead teams carrying out commissioned tasks, to establish and manage small businesses, to apply legal knowledge to the extent necessary to conduct professional and business activities. Graduates are prepared to: provide engineering services in the field of geodesy, cartography and geoinformatics, apply advanced geodetic, satellite, photogrammetric and remote sensing measurement techniques, process and use measurement results.
Studying Geodesy and Geoinformatics prepares the graduate for employment in surveying, cartography and geoinformatics companies, small businesses, research institutions, development centres, as well as central and local government units.
