The Environmental Engineering programme focuses on solving engineering problems related to environmental protection and sustainable development. Graduates, awarded the title of Engineer, will acquire practical engineering skills based on a solid foundation in core subjects such as chemistry, mathematics, physics, biology, and microbiology.

Students gain a comprehensive understanding of environmental components and the fundamental technologies used in water protection, wastewater treatment, soil remediation, land reclamation, waste management, and air pollution control. Particular emphasis is placed on the environmental aspects of bioenergy production and the microbial foundations of biotechnological processes in environmental engineering.

Students will also acquire essential knowledge of environmental law, quality assessment, and environmental management, both from national and international perspectives.

Our academic staff have extensive experience in teaching international students and are actively engaged in research, with numerous international publications and ongoing projects. We are committed to providing both theoretical and practical education, and our students participate in research activities in our modern laboratories.

The Environmental Engineering programme offers an interdisciplinary approach that combines knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for a variety of career paths in the environmental sector.

They will develop strong skills in the use of computer tools, including for design purposes. Graduates will be prepared to operate and evaluate the efficiency of technical systems and infrastructure related to: water supply and wastewater disposal, water and wastewater treatment, sewage sludge management and utilization, waste management.

They will also be equipped to conduct diagnostic measurements and monitor the effectiveness of technologies used in environmental engineering.

🎓 PROFESSIONAL PERMISSIONS

Graduates will be qualified to work in municipal utility companies, construction and installation firms, and technical or operational departments of industrial facilities — including the operation of infrastructure related to water intake, treatment and distribution, wastewater disposal and treatment, and waste management. They may also find employment in governmental and local administration bodies, sanitary and environmental protection services, as well as in industry-related commercial enterprises.

Furthermore, students have the opportunity to continue their education in a second-cycle (Master's) programme, which offers the possibility of earning two diplomas.
