The engineer's degree studies last at least 3.5 years (7 semesters). The educational profile of the program is general academic.

Studies in the field of Geodesy and Cartography provide the candidate with knowledge and skills in the area of engineering and technical sciences related to geodesy and cartography.

The offered courses enable the candidate to gradually develop his/her skills in the area of geodesy and cartography.

     The graduate has acquired rudimentary knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences and technical sciences, as well as specialist knowledge in geodesy and cartography. The graduate has acquired basic competencies in the area of: contemporary methods for surveying and modeling the Earth's shape and physical properties, observing changes therein over time, numerical processing and presentation of the results of surveying, satellite, remote sensing and photogrammetric measurements, performing spatial analyses with the use of GIS tools.

     The prerequisite for admission to the first-degree program is a high school diploma. For holders of diplomas issued in the "old matura" system, the admission criterion will be the grade-point average for the required courses (mathematics or geography or information technology, physics or chemistry, modern foreign language) multiplied by 100.00. For holders of diplomas issued in the "new matura" system, the admission criterion will be a ranking of total credit points (%) for the required courses (modern foreign language, chemistry, physics, astronomy, geography, mathematics, information technology).

The graduate has acquired rudimentary knowledge of mathematics, natural sciences and technical sciences, as well as specialist knowledge in geodesy and cartography. The graduate has acquired basic competencies in the area of: contemporary methods for surveying and modeling the Earth's shape and physical properties, observing changes therein over time, numerical processing and presentation of the results of surveying, satellite, remote sensing and photogrammetric measurements, performing spatial analyses with the use of GIS tools, acquiring data for spatial information systems, land administration systems and real estate management systems, developing business maps, basic maps, topographic maps and thematic maps, surveying services for investment projects, The graduate has the required skills to: use the acquired knowledge in work and daily life, manage teams, incorporating and managing small enterprises, by applying legal knowledge to the extent required for conducting professional and business activity. The graduate is prepared to: provide engineering services in the area of surveying, cartography and land information systems, apply advanced surveying, satellite, photogrammetric and remote sensing measuring techniques, process and deploy measurement results. The graduate should find employment in: surveying companies, enterprises, local and central administration units.

The graduate is entitled, upon the completion of the relevant internship, to take a state examination for a licensed, independent provider of the following services: topographic surveys, inventory surveys, legal boundary surveys, property (land) division, development of documents for legal procedures, basic surveying measurements, surveying services for investments, surveying services for the management of agricultural and afforested areas, map editing, photogrammetry and remote sensing.

 

Payment

The cost is 5,000 PLN/semester (about 1100 Euro).registration fee 85 PLN (about 18 Euro).

 

Accommodation

In dormitories in the University Campus.
